Grade 3 Hair Transplant

He had baldness in the frontal area bitemporal recession and loss of markings of temples as well. There was thinning in the crown area which was very prominent and even the middle portion was thinning.
The patient had consulted a lot of clinics before coming to us almost all the clinics in India and even some clinics abroad. The patient had a thorough knowledge of the donor area, safe donor area & unsafe donor area. He also had an idea about the role of medications especially finasteride in hair transplant surgery. He had been told by a lot of clinics to undergo around 4000 grafts to cover the entire area completely. Not only this they were also giving him 1MG finasteride per day along with that. Patient knew that finasteride can obviously grow a lot of hair, but it comes at the cost of dependence, tolerance and potential side-effects. A donor is an asset which cannot be overused as we know hair loss can be progressive and getting a hairline too low may get him land up in a situation where there is a band in the front and an Island in the crown nothing in between and no donor left to cater to the situation.
After a long discussion and planning, we decided to go for 1800 grafts by the FUE method. We did the frontal area the temples and some parts of the crown in this. We know very well that if he needs another surgery in future which he may, that surgery would be FUT surgery. FUT surgery can be done 2 to 3 times which will give us a good number of grafts. We had put this patient on 0.5 MG finasteride three times a week along with alternate days application of 5% minoxidil and Satya‘s multivitamin the hair art kit.
The patient was earlier taking 1MG finasteride per day which was suggested to him by some other clinic around 5-6 months back.

You can see the immediate post pictures and 15-day post pictures where the graft placement is visible and looks beautiful. It looks as if the patient has just shaved off his head. We could have done more grafts in this patient to give a more fuller look.
